Philosophy

Karen believes that health, fitness and wellness can be a functional part of everyday life. It takes hard work and commitment to achieve your fitness goals. As a fitness professional, she is here to give you the tools to become a happier, healthier and stronger person - mentally and physically. It is her goal to ensure that you will be able to integrate these tools into your busy lifestyle. You will be amazed at how much more you are capable of achieving and how much fun you will have during the process!

She never stops pushing herself to learn more knowledge through real life experiences. She feels that the best way to learn and teach others is through pushing herself to take on challenges that intimidate and scare her; yet makes her feel excited and anxious. After all, how can she ask her clients to take on something, if she doesn't do it herself! The feeling of acheivement of completing a goal is like no other!!!

Mission

Karen's vision is to educate, train and encourage more individuals to utilize weight training as part of their daily routine. Do you want to change your body, burn tons of calories and gain confidence? Through proper weight training, nutrition and some cardio, Karen can show you how!

Accomplishments

2018 Elbaman: This is a full Ironman distance race on the Island of Elba located on an island 6 miles off the coast of Italy. This race involved a salt water swim in the Mediterranean Sea, 9000 feet of elevation on the 112 mile bike ride, and a georgous marathon through the city and along the beach of Elba Island. This race was defenitely a challenge for Karen, but worth every minute! Karen's time was 14 hours 54 minutes.

2017 NPC Figure Compettition, Bend, Oregon: Karen thought training for an Ironman was hard, (Believe me, it still is!) however training for a bodybuilding figure competition was really tough! The complete dedication to the timing on nutrition and quality of workouts were intense. She came in 5th in Master's Overall figure.

2016 Chalenge Penticton, Canada: 3/4 Ironman distance. This was by far Karen's best overall time in a long course triathlon at 8:35:05. The weather was perfect, in the mid 70's.

2015 Ironman Whistler: This was a huge accomplishment for Karen! She finished in just under 15 hours. The epic story of this event was the weather! The event is at the end of July where the weather should be sunny and warm, but instead it was cold, wet and windy. Karen was so happy to just finish!

Interests and Hobbies

Karen enjoys weight training, running, swimming, cycling and triathlons. She absolutely loves being outdoors in the sunshine! She has two wonderful sons, ages 15 and 21, who are actively involved in soccer and basketball. Karen loves watching their growth and achievements in all they put their minds to. She hopes that someday the three of them complete a triathlon together! In her down time, she enjoys sitting down—relaxing—with a glass of red wine and a good book.
